The Origins of the Whistle
There are many different types of whistles, depending on what part of history they originate in. However, the main two are ancient bone flutes and modern metal whistles. Flutes have been discovered that are estimated to be 40,000 years old, which was during the earliest times of human settlement in these areas. Most of these ancient flutes were carved out of bones because it was an easily accessible resource because of the animals they hunted. Today’s more refined whistles are built out of metals because of its durability and tone, but regardless of material, all of the elements whistles consist of were all created from fusion of single atoms together to create heavier elements within a star.
